This article is based on an analysis of how sustainability and environmental protection are communicated in the form of product symbols. The aim is to explore Polish consumers' awareness and preferences regarding environmental labelling on products and, in a broader context, society's approach to protecting the environment by choosing products created in a sustainable way. Through empirical research, including a self-completed online questionnaire and secondary data sources, the study addresses the key research objectives and hypotheses, aiming to identify the symbols with the greatest impact on consumers.
The paper presents the results of a survey on knowledge of environmental symbols and their impact on the purchasing decisions of Polish consumers. It discusses which logos are most widely known and which have the greatest significance for consumers. It also presents observations regarding the credibility and informational value of the symbols. Consumers' approach to environmental protection is also presented based on product preferences. The article also provides guidance on the more effective use of environmental symbols and discusses their relationship to environmental protection and sustainability more broadly. Despite limitations in the size of the research sample, a factor that limits the extent to which these findings can be generalized, the study offers valuable insight into the perception of environmental symbols among Polish consumers and their approach to environmental protection. |
