Fodder yeasts are widely used in animal feeding as a source of protein with high amount of B vitamins. While plant protein is very poor in such amino acids like lysine, methionine, tryptophan, single cell protein contents all complex of essential amino acids. Studies have shown advantages and possibilities of using single cell protein in complex with plant base for animal feeding. Sunflower is being one of the most cultivated agriculture in Russian Federation. Deproteinized sunflower meal is a secondary product of the sunflower oil and protein production from seeds, which forms in large volumes and requires conversion into material with highly added value. By means of bioconversion a beneficial product can be obtained. Due to the high concentration of fiber and its compounds, which yeast do not accumulate, pre-treatment for its biodegradation should be applied. This research aimed at the effect of complex sequential acid and enzymatic hydrolysis of deproteinized sunflower meal on the fermentation of yeasts on the example of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The deproteinized sunflower meal preprocessing efficiency analysis was carried out during the course of its bioconversion into fodder additive taking into account the principles of full factorial design. The acid hydrolysis conditions of deproteinized sunflower meal were investigated for reducing substances yield optimization. The response surfaces were obtained for reducing substances, final yeast yield and crude protein concentration. The significance of the factors was verified by the t-test. The adequacy of the obtained equations was checked by the F-test. The proposed algorithm allowed to determine the effective ranges of parameters of the deproteinized sunflower meal processing for further composite design optimization.
