For increasing the volumes of the grain production and quality it is necessary to restore and extend sowing area, enlarge the yield growth at the expense of intensive technologies of cultivation, effective selection and decrease of losses while harvesting. One of the main reasons of yield shortage is lodging of sowings. This paper compares extent of grain crops lodging. The investigation was carried out using mathematic analysis of variety features of the stem resistance for winter and spring wheat, barley, rye, triticale, rice, corn, sorghum and bamboo to lodging considering physical and mechanical properties of their tissues and architectonics. There were determined density values, modules and limits of elasticity and flow in three phases of plant vegetation: blossoming, wax and complete ripeness. These determined vales of physical and mechanical properties of the tissues of the cereal stems are recommended to use in selecting the parent couples for hybridization, as well as for selecting genotypes out of hybrid populations while growing new varieties being resistant to lodging.
