The paper presents the technology of controlling a beam made of the Polytech material. The innovative Polytech technology was used to construct buildings made from prefabricated units. The Polytech system requires analyses and verification of the detailed data related to the strength and deformability of the elements used for building construction. A control technology was suggested that involved installation of a fiber Bragg grating deformation sensor on the surface of the investigated beam. Thanks to properly designed system of analyzing the data provided by the FBG sensor (sensor with Bragg grating) deformations of the material used to produce the construction elements can be measured constantly during load and unload tests. The tests performed using the FBG sensor aenabled the detailed analyses of the beam. This way, the deformability and strength limits of the Polytech material were determined. This enabled proper modification of the selected structural nodes in the system prefabricated elements.
