The paper treats the problem of water eutrophication for hilly lakes. Water quality monitoring evaluates the physical, chemical, biological and bacteriological parameters of the water in relation with ecological conditions of the environment and of human health. Our researches followed the evolution of the ecological potential and the chemical state of the water between 2014 and 2018. It was defined the concept of eutrophication for hilly lakes water, it have been established the causes of this process, and it was studied the evolution of the main parameters of water quality for analyzed lakes using water quality models. The degree of trophicity of lakes water was established based on biological elements, minimum oxygen saturation, and total nitrogen and phosphorus nutrients. From many and different water quality models, we chose the WaQ Model for study the water quality forecast of lakes ecosystems. The results were obtained following the application of each scenario of the balance equation of nutrients loads from various sources of pollution. The data entered in the model refer to the monitoring of lakes Ciric 1 and 2 from Yassy County, Romania, for the period 2014 ? 2018, and the forecast was made for the year 2021. The average annual concentrations of the two indicators corresponding to the average annual flow were taken into account.
