In order to reduce the amount of waste in the production process, the efficient use of raw materials and energy, the concept of a circular economy is increasingly being introduced. Its main goal is the rational use of resources and raw materials, and the reduction of waste in the production process. One of the reasons for introducing this concept is to limit the negative impact of economic development on the environment. The implementation of this idea is not easy. Especially nowadays when technology is dynamically developing and new technologies optimizing the production process are being implemented. It is reasonable that in these processes, already at the stage of their creation, take into account their effects on the environment. In particular, this applies to the electrical and electronic equipment market. A very large increase in production waste and problems in the management of used equipment are observed in this area. The products of these industries form the so-called e-waste, very harmful to the environment. The situation is also aggravated by the dynamically developing idea of the fourth industrial revolution, which causes very significant changes in the economy and generates further waste. The article analyses the legal status of implementing the circular economy and presents concepts for its implementation in the production of electrical and electronic equipment. Also referred to the amount of generated waste as well as raw materials and energy balance in this production. The article is disputable and is intended to lead to a constructive debate on the impact of the rate of economic development on its effects on the environment. Several specific proposals were also presented in the field of monitoring and control of waste management as well as the use of raw materials and energy in the examined industries. It is not disputed that the circular economy together with the concept of sustainable development are to determine the directions of economic development that will limit the negative impact on the natural environment and will be socially acceptable.
