This paper presents the experimental results regarding the evolution into time of the road concrete quality with blast furnace slag BS, obtained by the UPV test for measuring the propagation velocity of the ultrasonic pulses compared with the compressive strengths of mechanical tests The UPV and the compressive strengths of the concrete containing blast furnace slag were determined at the age of 28, 100 and 150 days on 150 mm cubes on road concrete made with conventional materials and on road concrete with blast furnace slag. The experiment was carried out on three blends with blast furnace slag and on two control mixtures with conventional materials. For blast furnace slag mixtures, the same amount of ground and granulated blast furnace slag under 63 ?m GGBS was used. Then three different percentages, 20%, 40%, 60% of artificial aggregates furnace slag ABS replaced size 0/4 mm natural sand. The two control mixtures or made with different dosages of Portland cement so as to the GGBS was added at to the cement mass by 15% compared to the first control mixture, respectively replaced the mass of the cement by percentage by 13% compared to the second control mixture. The UPV and the mechanical strength of the road concrete mixtures containing blast furnace slag were increased up to the age of 100 days and then decreased up to 150 days compared to the control mixture used GGBS as added to the cement mass. However, the results at 100 and 150 days for road concrete mixtures in which the quantity of GGBS was used as a substitution for cement mass and artificial aggregate ABS replaced by 20% and 40% natural aggregate were close compared to control mixture. Increasing the level of substitution of artificial aggregates to 60% has led to a reduction in the performance of this mixture. The tendency of evolution between UPV and the compressive strength according to the age of the concrete has been established as a mathematical relation based on the results obtained.
