The problem of global warming is currently very actual. In a recent year, some constructions projects have caused a rapid and, in many cases, ill-considered building boom. Many buildings were not being built with the greatest possible adaptation to the environment. People who lives in these locations can feel uncomfortable because of noise of construction machines, air pollution or reducing green areas. One consequence is the overheating of parts of the towns. Many of them are located in concrete places, where is few green and water (ecological) elements. This study deals with the use of modern progressive technology, thermal imaging, for qualitative analysis of temperature changes in the urban environment. The main aim of research is using this technology is to create a database of street's temperatures (parts of the city) in Kosice, Slovakia, which will monitor the most suitable places for quality people's life. This database could be an interesting part for implementing to the building information modelling.
