Considering that the underground mining of coal is used mining systems that have a high degree of complexity, and can reach cumulative lengths of tens of kilometers, associated with them we have the ventilation networks with the role of transporting important air flows with the help of special ventilation systems. The aeration networks are made up of all the mining works on which air flows are carried. Structurally, they comprise nodes and branches. The nodes of an aeration network are generated by the intersection of two or more mining works, and the branches represent the network portion between two consecutive nodes.
During the execution of the mining works, respectively of the coal mining, the accompanying gases enter the atmosphere of the mining works. At the same time as a result of the coal oxidation process, explosive, toxic and suffocating gases appear, which also enter the atmosphere of the mining works. General, partial or local aeration is used to dilute these gases and maintain their concentrations below the maximum permissible limit.
Modeling and simulation of mining ventilation networks, mining ventilation networks, has become widespread in the mining industry. There are a number of computer programs for analyzing mining ventilation networks that are currently used to design, analyze and operate ventilation systems. Most of these programs have a graphical representation of the ventilation network and the related quantities, such as air losses in the branches, fan characteristics, heat transfer calculation, natural ventilation, etc. In addition, most of them include simulation of gas movement, as well as simulations for modified conditions, such as fire cases, although these are usually stable models.
The present paper presents the analysis and solving of a complex aeration network, the analysis and the establishment of the physical laws as well as the aerodynamic parameters that influence the process of air flow on the mining works route, identifying the degree of dispersion of the toxic, explosive and suffocating gases in the conditions of the accomplishment. a stable mechanized ventilation.
