The article focuses on studying new Baltic amber processing technologies. This topic is relevant primarily for regions where amber is being mined commercially, including for the Kaliningrad region of Russia, where the largest industrial amber deposit in the world is located, developed by one enterprise ? the Kaliningrad Amber Factory. Having a specific production structure with a large share of amber for pressing and amber for chemical processing against the background of increasing amber production, the Kaliningrad Amber Factory faces the problem of expanding the processing of smaller mineral fractions, including within the region. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to assess the global market of new amber processing technologies to identify possible and promising areas that can be implemented in the amber industry of the Kaliningrad region of Russia. The main research method is the analysis of patents contained in the Dimensions patents database. The research period is 1975-2020. The results of the study showed that the development of amber processing technologies is characterized by unstable dynamics and is strongly tied to places of extraction of mineral resources or markets for the sale of amber products. Most of the technologies presented in patent applications imply deep processing of small fractions of amber as a main or additional component. The use of amber is possible in a large number of sectors, including complimentary ones. In order to create a stable demand in terms of time and volume for amber of small fractions within the Kaliningrad region, it is necessary to focus efforts on the formation of intersectoral clusters of companies working on raw amber input. Promising areas in addition to jewelry could be wellness, building materials, manufacture of home decor accessories, which would be in demand both in the domestic and foreign markets.
