The paper presents the examples of georadar sounding of rocks and soils of mining constructions and facilities in order to control their internal structures and conditions. The measurements have revealed that in the inner zones of inhomogeneities the induced electromagnetic field is distorted due to the difference in the physical properties of the zone? rocks and the main rock mass. The authors have established that the intensity of the wave field distortion is determined by the contrast of the physical properties of the rocks and the depth of the zone. In order to increase reliability, the results of georadar sounding of the rocks that make up the open pit bench were connected to visual and telemetric examination of the walls drilled on the bench. According to the measurements, an increase in the rock disturbance leads to higher recorded values of their dielectric conductivity. The defined relationship has been the basis for the interpretation of georadar sounding data for all the studied sections of the open pit benches. The paper presents the results of combining georadar and seismic studies of mining bulk soil facilities to study their subsurface structure and localization in their body of different water-saturated zones. The results are presented as synchronized radarograms of an electromagnetic wave velocity and seismic tomograms of the ratio of elastic waves velocities. The authors have performed a comparative analysis of the palettes of radarograms and seismic tomograms, as well as the variability of quantitative values along the most characteristic paths (sections) of the waves? passage, which allowed more reliable establishment of the boundaries of the soil water saturation zones. The authors have determined the ranges of the electromagnetic wave velocity and intervals of the ratio of velocities of the longitudinal and transverse elastic wave during the transition from dry, dense dam?s soils to wet and, further, to water-saturated soils.
