The article examines the paleogeographic conditions of rock formation of the Alakol depression from the Baikol era of the end of the Proterozoic in order to determine the most favorable deposits for oil and gas source properties, where to the north and south of the Alakol depression there were marine sedimentation conditions with the accumulation of deposits up to 1000m. it was found that in the Early Cambrian time, a contract relief developed east of the depression. In the Ordovician, sediments accumulate under marine conditions. In the Silurian and Devonian, the time of transgression of the sea comes, rocks of different lithological composition are formed.
In the Early Carboniferous, in the southern part of the depression, the marine conditions of rock formation are preserved. At the end of the Paleozoic, tectonic mobility for the development of the quasi-platform cover ends. The considered paleogeographic conditions of the formation of the rocks of the Alakol depression revealed that the stratigraphic levels of the Permian-Triassic, Jurassic and Paleogene rocks could generate hydrocarbons. Hydrogeological and geological conditions of occurrence of Meso-Cenozoic and Upper Paleozoic sedimentary rocks of the southern part of the Alakol depression indicate an active area in the formation of hydrodynamic conditions in the formation of hydrocarbon deposits. The article presents favorable indirect and direct signs of the possible oil and gas content of sedimentary strata of the South Alakol trough. |
