The features of the weather and climate regime of West Svalbard Island (on the example of Barenzburg village) for 2006 - 2015 were examined. Trends and characteristics of the island 's bioclimate were studied on the basis of analysis of urgent data of 8-urgent meteorological observations obtained at Barenzburg village, Russia, West Svalbard Island, for the period from 2006 to 2015 and provided by the North-West branch of «NPO Typoon». The uniqueness of the nature and climatic conditions of Svalbard Island (Barenzburg village) is related to its remote location from urbanized territories and zones: the distance from the island to the North Pole is 1050 km, as well as the undeniable influence of the Arctic. Coal mining and, relatively recently, the increased tourist burden are the main manifestation of anthropogenic impact on the island 's environment. It seems to the authors that one of the most pressing problems of the island is the transformation of the unique conditions of the Arctic climate under the influence of increasing anthropogenic pressing. Based on the results of the study and taking into account the author 's methodology, an integral assessment of the bioclimatic comfort of the island was made on the example of Barenzburg, Russia, station for 2006 - 2015, which allowed to reveal its generally uncomfortable conditions. However, the evaluation of the thermal bioclimatic load, showing close to comfortable conditions for a number of years, highlights the ambiguity of the findings and necessitates further scientific research on the island.
