This paper analyses the vibrations and noises transmitted to the seafaring staff on a cargo river ship on the Danube between Novi Sad and Sulina. The ship has 5 people as sailing personnel: 1 captain, 1 coxswain, 1 mechanic, 2 sailors. The trip was made in the fall of 2018. Parallel measurements were made on the main bridge as well as inside the engines room, in three situations: ship leaving the shore, running and mooring maneuver. We measured and calculated the main vibration parameters: Vibration magnitude r.m.s., Exposure duration, Partial VDV, Partial exposure A(8), Time to reach EAV (VDV option) 9.1m/s1.75, Time to reach EAV to reach ELV (A(8) option only) 1.15m/s2. The main noise parameters were also measured and calculated simultaneously (Noise Level (LAeq dB), Exposure duration (hours), Exposure points (job/task), Exposure points per hour). The obtained results far exceeded the legal limits of ISO 20283-5:2016, ISO 8041:2005, Noise at work: A brief guide to controlling risks (HSE), Directive 2003/10/EC. In the end, subjects were asked to choose, on the Likert scale, the degree of satisfaction with the working conditions. The subjects' answers to the Likert questions were surprising, to say the least. All the 5 subjects answered the 5 questions and most of the answers (12) are found in the neutral area. Those who declared themselves to be ?Unsatisfied? are the two sailors and the coxswain, but only for the questions regarding the living and working conditions. For the questions regarding the noise and vibration pollution, there were 4 ?Satisfied? answers, coming from the two sailors. Consequently, substantial investment needs to be made in order to modernize the ships that sail on the Danube and, eventually, to purchase new ones, which meet all health and safety regulations. Similarly, it is mandatory to improve the working and resting conditions of the seafarers.
