This study is investigating the influences and effects of the chaotic exploitation of mineral aggregates and its direct impact on the evolutionary forms of the Siret River. The study is important due to the decommissioning of agricultural land caused by river erosion in the area of Gala?i County. After the comparative analysis of the new topographic plan with the old soil map, we identified how the area, exploited by private companies in order to extract mineral aggregates, i.e. sand and gravel mostly used in the road construction industry, looks today.
