The environment is a major source of life that must be protected and treated, even though it is exposed to high inequality in different countries. The risk against the nature posed by pollution and global warming have brought about the need of safeguarding the environment in various forms. Today, many international organizations have developed different strategies for protecting the environment.
Kosovo as a country in transition, that faces with many factors of environmental pollution. In this situation, the banking system can play an important role in safeguarding the environment, starting from banking services through digital channels, which increase efficiency and effectiveness both on the part of the institutions as well as to customers. Another role bank play in safeguarding the environment is the development of policies and strategies in the providing of credit products in financing projects that impact environmental care through green loans. The modernization and digitalization of the banking system is also advancing in Kosovo, but at slower steps. Banking system is the success stories, based on financial elements, the banking market is increasingly growing, but in this research, we analyze and conclude the orientation of banks, through their mission, vision, policies and financial reports in supporting the activities that have environmental impact, based on digitalization of services and financing with green loans, in order to finance clients who have their own investment plans in environmental care In addition to the research of this problematic, also we treat citizens' opinions as clients and businesses of the banking sector to reach conclusions on how they can influence the safeguarding of the environment through banking services. The data will be processed through SPSS program, from which we will generate and analyze statistical results. This paper is of great importance because it will contribute to fostering the banking system to adapt their policies and strategies in environmental care. It is also directly related to the reduction of banking business costs in general. |
