The article is a summary of transforming geographic and environment research trends and shows new guidelines in the field of natural education in Ukraine in the context of the global process of sustainable development ensuring. It is argued that priority should be given to environmental studies, which will be considered exclusively in a set of three interrelated components. These are: 1) environment assessment as a natural area of society and analysis of its capacity to preserve the socio-economic and environmental safety of the population; 2) consideration of the environment as "second nature" and evaluating it as an agro-technical (agro-landscape) environment; 3) environment analysis as a "quasi-nature", which is an artificial material world created by man, and integrates the systems of population settlement, objects and territorial systems of industrial and social infrastructure, spiritual life of the population. The emergence of relevant scientific fields in Ukraine is accompanied by limited and slow transformations of educational programs at different levels - from secondary to professional higher education. The analysis transformation that caused by the introduction of the integrated science course "Natural Science" in institutions of secondary education, differences in curricula and approaches to the formation of science philosophy and ideas about causation within the Earth's landscape envelope are analyzed. It has been determined that the concept of sustainable development should become a reference point in the natural education, integrating core, which will ensure the formation of social consciousness and responsibility, the ability to live and make environmentally safe, ensuring a healthy lifestyle. It is established that further improvement of the higher professional education system of Ukraine for sustainable development requires the introduction of end-to-end training programs of specialists, new modern bachelor's and master's programs in environmental and resource-saving technologies, economics of the environment and natural resources, as well as conducting educational activities.
