The level of geological competence of students studying in the areas of undergraduate studies ?Earth Sciences? and ?Pedagogical Education? (profiles Geography, Geography and Biology), determine not only the acquired theoretical knowledge and competencies, but also the ability to record and summarize field observations. The latter is formed in the process of a person's knowledge of the natural environment according to the didactic principle?- from the known to the unknown, from close to far. In Russia, it received the name of local history (local lore) and is widely used in high school, school and additional education.
The educational project ?My ecumene? was developed for the system of additional and higher pedagogical education (Geography profile), as well as universities, where elementary geology courses are taught. The project is based on the concept of ecumene as a developed part of the geographical space - its own world for a particular person, social group, ethnic group, historical community. Ecumene is dynamic and expands with the development and knowledge (empirical, theoretical, spiritual) of the subject of new territories. The aim of the project is to improve the methodology of teaching geology by forming vivid visual and linguistic images of minerals and rocks (modern and historical geological terminology, local names). The project contributes to the acquisition of knowledge on the history of mining, local mining and remote historical centers of mining; expanding the understanding of the role of minerals and rocks in the cultures of their people and other ethnic groups, the reflection of geological information in works of fiction and visual art, the connection between geology and architecture. Educational projects are devoted to the objects of natural and industrial heritage (Mining heritage), geological tourism. |
