The objective of this paper to study the mechanical properties of natural fiber fabrics and to promote their use as a strengthening technique to reinforced concrete structures. The materials used are the natural hemp fibers and synthetic glass fibers as control material. The natural hemp fibers have been known since ancient times and remain relevant today. In fact, in civil engineering the use of composite carbon fiber material, although recent is an interesting alternative application in the field of strengthening of civil engineering structures. The technique consists of bonding a natural long fiber fabric sheet on the reinforced concrete structure by an adhesive. In short, this technique contributes to improving the lifetime, safety and fitness of structures in service when changing the environment. The natural fibers have larger environmental benefits. In this investigation, hemp, mix hemp and cotton fiber fabrics were tested in tensile and flexion and compare to results of control fiberglass. The results show that it allows to increase exceptionally the ultimate loads by twice the bending and shear strengths of the strengthened structures. Nonetheless, in this investigation, the strain gauges were used to study the mechanical behavior of the reinforced structure by hemp fiber fabrics. This paper deals briefly the results of tests carried out on different type of based naturel fibers reinforcement plates compare finally to carbon fiber plates results. The influence of different fiber fabrics in the strengthening of concrete structures on their ultimate capacity and stiffness member. The results show a substantial increase from 5% to 35 % in flexural strength.
