Modern industry is characterized by the intensive use of INDUSTRY 4.0 technologies and digitalization, which provide tools to increase efficiency, to reduce costs and achieve goals for the sustainable development of enterprises. This is also relevant for mining production as one of the areas of the general industry. INDUSTRY 4.0 technologies and digitalization increase the deposit development efficiency, optimize technological and production chains, improve mining safety, simplify internal and external logistics (at mining enterprises and from an enterprise to a consumer).
The article substantiates the need to consider the effects of the integrated use of INDUSTRY 4.0 technologies and digitalization in the main processes of mining enterprises, including the mineral extraction, loading, transportation and processing, as well as the sale of mining products. The authors have analyzed effects of digital technologies introduction at a number of the largest mining enterprises of the Russian Federation.
The economic effect consists primarily in reducing operating costs by 10-15%, which increases both the profitability of the operating enterprise and the commercial attractiveness of mining investment projects. The concept of forming a digital twin of a mining enterprise integrating mining and digital technologies has been proposed based on digital models of the surface relief, buildings and facilities, geological structure of the deposit, open and underground mine workings, etc. A special attention is given to the automation of production operations, robotization of equipment, algorithms and computer modelling of the main processes of extraction, processing and sale of the final product (concentrate).
The objective of this research is to substantiate methodological approaches to quantifying the financial, economic, and socio-industrial effects of the use of INDUSTRY 4.0 technologies and digitalization in the mining industry.
