The study of spatial heterogeneity of phytosanitary state of seeding and agricultural crops plantings is necessary for the widespread introduction of the precision farming system, which would make it possible to achieve a significant reduction in the pesticide load on agrocenoses and the environment. In Russia, the methodology for studying the heterogeneity of the phytosanitary state of agrocenoses is developed on the experimental base of the Menkovsky branch of the Agrophysical Research Institute. For this purpose, the test fields are subjected to detailed registration of pest distribution and growth. Together with the classical ground-based registration methods, aerial photography of the field is carried out using the "Geoscan 401" unmanned aerial vehicle. A portable handheld sensor GreenSeeker is used, with the help of which the value of the vegetation index NDVI for each registry field is determined. To analyze the spatial distribution of pests within the field, the coefficients of variation and aggregation are calculated. Digital maps of the spatial distribution of pests are compiled using the GIS API and Surfer 11 programs. This methodology has been successfully tested in a fallow field, potatoes planting and crops of spring barley in the North-West of the Russian Federation.
