As a result of the operation of thermal power plants used solid hydrocarbon fuel, ash and slag waste (ASW) is formed. ASW is a finely dispersed mineral material remaining as a result of burning brown and hard coal. The involvement of ASW in industrial turnover is one of the most effective ways to solve the issue of energy and resource conservation. The share of involvement of these types of waste in economic turnover in the European Union is about 98%, in China about 80%, and in Russia this indicator does not exceed 10%. In this paper, the possibilities of creating and prospects for using technologies for complex processing and these types of waste are considered. From ash and slag waste, it is possible to isolate chemical compounds that provide products for various industries, including the building engineering for the production of binders, concretes, and dry building mixes. The utilization of ASW in industrial production will also provide a solution to the environmental problem of industrial waste pollution. A man-made highly dispersed dust and harmful effluents will gradually reduce the rate of increasing the area of landfills of the ASW with the subsequent complete elimination.
