In 2015-2020 the content of heavy metals and metalloids in the river bottom sediments in Kaliningrad region was studied. Definition of arsenic, lead, zinc, copper, and vanadium, iron, manganese, titanium, aluminum was carried out in water samples and in the samples of bottom and floodplain sediments in the watercourses, flowing into the Curonian Lagoon, in the Baltic Sea and in Kaliningradsky (Vistula) Lagoon, as well as in the watercourses of the southern part of the Kaliningrad region. The composition and patterns of the spatial distribution of trace elements in the bottom sediments of the river network of various regions of the Kaliningrad region are determined.
To assess the diversity of the geochemical composition of the bottom sediments, calculations of concentration ratio are made. The degree of dependence of the elemental composition of bottom sediments on the type of land use, soil types and landscapes, that formed on the catchment areas, are investigated. For microelements in bottom sediments of rivers, the enrichment factors are calculated as indicators of potential pollution. |
