The relevance of preserving the biosphere’s sustainable state determines the need to restore natural ecosystems.
The Mining Institute KSC RAS has substantiated the methodology and developed a technology to restore natural ecosystems disturbed during the development of georesources, in accordance with the principle of their self-organization. The increase of the energy potential of the system-forming function of biota results in a much faster remediation of natural ecosystems, compare to self-growing.
The permanent increase in monitoring data determines the relevance of integral assessment of the dynamics of ecological restoration by means of geoinformation design.
The information system includes data on:
- the state of disturbed lands;
- the resource potential for self-recovery;
- the surface study of genetic parameters and functional indexes of soils forming due to “rock – biota” system evolution, during the formation of sown cereal phytocenosis without applying a topsoil layer;
- the geobotanical description of the forest succession stage of sown cereal phytocenosis, characterizing the formation of phytocenosis with the structure of the surrounding natural landscape;
- the satellite data to study the dynamics of natural ecosystems restoration based on the vegetation index of the forming phytocenosis.
Analysis of geobotanical description of the forming phytocenosis and time series of satellite data makes it possible to predict the dynamics of ecological restoration.
