ASSESSMENT OF INDICATORS OF THE CONDITION OF DRINKING WATER SUPPLY IN THE SIBERIAN FEDERAL DISTRICT AND THEIR CONTRIBUTION TO THE ASSOCIATED MORBIDITY AND EXPECTED LIFE OF THE POPULATION

The article is devoted to the assessment of the impact of the state of drinking water supply systems on the health of the population of the Siberian Federal District and the life expectancy of the population. Water is a vital strategic resource, and the issue of providing the population with a sufficient amount of sanitary water is one of the urgent problems of mankind. Taking into account the importance of efficient water use, the relationship between water resources and the environment, the UN General Assembly proclaimed 2018-2028 the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development"1. Assessment of indicators of the state of drinking water supply of the population in the Siberian Federal District for the period 2010–2018 revealed that the share of centralized drinking water supply sources that do not meet sanitary and epidemiological requirements decreased by 2.7% (the rate of decrease of the indicator - 5.4%), and the share of water pipelines that do not meet sanitary and epidemiological requirements decreased by 6.3% (the rate of decrease of the indicator - 25.1%). It was determined that 97.7% of the urban population of the Siberian Federal District is provided with quality drinking water (higher than the average Russian indicator by 1.6%), and 76.0% of the population living in rural areas (lower than the average Russian indicator by 1.7%). It was found that in 2019, the number of cases of morbidity associated with the quality of drinking water supply decreased relative to 2012 on average in the subjects of the Siberian Federal District by 15.0% (the largest decrease was observed in the Tyva Republic and the Omsk Oblast - 86.2% and 53.6%, respectively). Compounds of iron, manganese, chlorine and organochlorine compounds, nitrites, ammonia, as well as microbiological indicators, made a greater contribution to the formation of associated morbidity. Assessment of the growth potential of life expectancy of the population in the constituent entities of the Siberian Federal District showed that the expected positive effect of indicators characterizing the quality of domestic drinking water supply, if they change favorably by 2024 according to a logarithmic trend, is in the range from 0.5 to 62.2 days. The maximum potential for life expectancy growth is registered in the Tyva Republic.
