Pea plants (Pisum sativum L.) is a high-value agricultural crop in the Far North regions. It is usually using as a fodder crop for livestock, but not as agricultural crop, since pea fruits do not mature in the harsh Arctic climate. In this regard, the use of environmentally friendly plant growth/development stimulators to accelerate the maturation of peas and other legumes is promising for the development of agriculture in the unfavorable conditions. As a possible source of biologically active substances of natural origin, a special attention should be paid to plants of Sosnowsky's hogweed (Heracleum Sosnowskyi Manden.), secondary metabolites of which are known not only due their toxicity, but also the growth-stimulating activity en ocasiones. The acetone extracts of dried hogweed leaves were used as water solutions of 0.05 - 2.50 %% concentrations for pea plants spraying (8 times in 30 days). At all concentrations there were practically no effects on the leaves and stems weight, but for roots and fruits the weight increase was observed. However, extracts of low (0.25%) concentration stimulated the growth rate of pea shoots. The discovered effect of growth stimulating may have practical importance with respect to the prospects for development of new technologies, optimizing its production in hursh environmental conditions. In this regard, effect of generative organs growth and development stimulation is of particular interest, since it makes it possible to use peas plants both a fodder and agricultural crop in the North.
