Through mathematical modeling at the local or regional level, local or zonal trends for meteorological factors can be determined and the main hazards to which elements of the infrastructure, the economy and the population are exposed. In the present study, a statistical analysis was aimed at trying to determine the analysis of variability and climate change in the western part of Romania and a statistical correlation between the temperature variation and the amounts of precipitation recorded at the Timisoara weath...

INTERPRETATION OF CLIMATE RISK FACTORS FOR THE PERIOD 2019-2022 IN THE WESTERN AREA OF ROMANIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2023-10-01, V. D. Mircov, A. Ökrös, C. Mihuţ, A. D. Copcea, Codruța Chiș)

The purpose of this work is to identify some meteorological risk indicators that most accurately express the extreme nature of the manifestations of atmospheric phenomena in the western part of the country, and for this we analyzed a period of four years, between the years 2019-2022. Most of the basic meteorological parameters of these years were presented for the town of Timisoara, for which we took into account the thermal regime, the pluviometric regime, the atmospheric pressure, the duration of the glow. For t...

PERCEPTION OF CLIMATE CHANGE: CASE STUDY TIMI? COUNTY, ROMANIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2023-10-01, Codruța Chiș, V. D. Mircov, Antoanela Cozma, A. Ökrös, Carmen Claudia Durău)

The effects of climate change are already visible through rising air temperatures, melting glaciers and shrinking polar ice caps, rising sea levels, increasing desertification, as well as more frequent extreme weather events such as heat waves, droughts, floods and storms. Climate change is not uniform globally and affects some regions more than others. Climate changes directly affect Romania and lead to intense heat waves or extreme weather phenomena (floods due to heavy rains, wind intensifications). In terms of...

CLIMATE ASSESSMENT AND RISK ANALYSIS IN WESTERN AND NORTHWESTERN ROMANIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-11-15, V. D. Mircov, Adalbert Okros, C. Mihuţ, Valeria Ciolac, Carmen Claudia Durău)

The study of meteorological-climatic phenomena, especially of extreme phenomena that have become more and more frequent, has gained greater significance, given the increasing awareness of the importance of preventing material damage. Thus, monitoring and analysis of atmospheric risk phenomena helps local and national authorities whose duty is to protect the population and property of any kind, and early warning regarding the occurrence of such phenomena is useful to each individual. The western and north-western p...

CLIMATE CHANGES IN THE LAST 30 YEARS STUDY CASE: WEST REGION ROMANIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-12-27, Codruța Chiș, A. Ökrös, V. D. Mircov)

The climate changes represent an important problem in today-s society. Our study refers to the West Region of Romania, formed by the counties of Arad, Timis, Caras-Severin, Hunedoara, and it shows that there are significant differences regarding the climate changes between these counties. In our paper, we analyze the evolution of annual, respectively seasonal precipitations , and of the minimal, maximal and medium air temperatures in the considered region in the time frame 1991-2021. The statistical analysis of da...

INFLUENCE OF CLIMATE INDICATORS AND RISK ASPECTS AT REPRESENTATIVE METEOROLOGICAL STATIONS IN THE WESTERN AREA OF ROMANIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-12-27, V. D. Mircov, C. Mihuţ, Adalbert Okros, Codruța Chiș, Carmen Claudia Durău)

The western area of Romania, like the entire country, due to its geographical position - in the temperate zone, is exposed to a wide range of risk weather and climate phenomena with the potential to occur throughout the year. The purpose of this work is to identify some indicators that most correctly express the extreme nature of the manifestations of some meteorological parameters and their characterization over a four-year period. The paper analyzes the main meteorological parameters from the profile stations in...

SOILS FROM TIROL AND MOLDOVA NOUA VINICULTURAL CENTRES

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-12-27, C. Mihuţ, Adalbert Okros, Lucian Dumitru Nita, V. D. Mircov, A. D. Copcea)

Research presented in this study aimed to identify the soils from two vineyards, Tirol and Moldova Noua, and to determine the physical and chemical properties of the soils there. Most of the vine plantations in the southern part of the vineyard are on soils that provide very good conditions for growth and development, especially for red wine vines. Preluvosoil, aluviosoil, districambosoil, and lithosol predominate the plateau. Following the research and analyses carried out, the following conclusions can be drawn:...

TYPOLOGY OF FAMILY TYPE AGRICULTURAL SYSTEMS: A CASE STUDY

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-12-27, Adalbert Okros, C. Mihuţ, A. D. Copcea, V. D. Mircov, D. Popa)

This study describes the typology of family agricultural systems from the western part of Romania. Fourteen family agricultural farms from Arad County, Romania, are taken in the study, whose areas range between 0.34 ha and 25 ha, with an average of about 22 ha. The main crops within these farms are grain maize, followed by wheat, oats, sunflower and rapeseed and, on smaller areas, fodder, vegetables and triticale. Because the structure of the crops is very diverse - the largest area is 12.60 ha and the smallest on...

EXTREME METEOROLOGICAL PHENOMENA RECORDED DURING WINTER 2009 - 2019 IN TIMISOARA, TIMIS COUNTY

(STEF92 Technology, 2019-06-20, V. D. Mircov)

In the plain area of Timis County, compar()ed to other regions of Romania, the phenomena specific to the cold season of the year do not have a special intensity, because the submediterranean influences make the snow layer shorter, the thickness of the layer is shorter, the periods of frost have a shorter duration and the phenomenon of blizzard is present especially on the mountain ridges. In this paper we want to highlight the abundant episodes recorded in Banat in the last ten years and the deviations of the ther...

CONSIDERATION REGARDING INSTABILITY INDICES OF THE ALADIN MODEL AND RADAR STRUCTURES ASSOCIATED UNDER THE FRAMEWORK OF CONVECTIVE SITUATIONS IN WESTERN ROMANIA DURING THE INTERVAL 2005-2009

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-06-20, V. D. Mircov)

The forecast of a convective situation is achieved not only through the analysis of the synoptic situation as well as with the help of instability indicators. These are determined either by means of data obtained from aerologic surveys or by using numerical models. The data presented in the paper are obtained using the model ALADIN (Aire Limit?e Adaptation Dynamique D?veloppement InterNational) model. Run instability indicators were KI, TTI (Total Totals Index) and CTI (Cross Totals Index) CAPE and MOCON. The anal...

THE INFLUENCE OF METEOROLOGIC CONDITIONS DURING THE PERIOD 2015-2017 ON THE PRODUCTION OF THE MAIN AGRICULTURAL CROPS FROM THE NORTHERN PART OF BANAT

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-11-20, V. D. Mircov)

The current paper follows the climatic evolution of the main meteorological parameters in the area of the Nadlac locality, during the period 2015-2017, and, for the same period, we highlighted the way in which these meteorological factors influenced the productions of the main crops from the studied area. Analysis of the thermal regime for the three years under study highlighted a decrease in temperature, more pronounced during winter 2016/2017. During the summer period of the same time interval, no significant de...
