FLORISTIC COMPOSITION AND FODDER VALUE OF SOME COMMUNAL PASTURES OF TIMIS COUNTY, ROMANIA: (A CASE STUDY)

(STEF92 Technology, 2023-10-01, Carmen Claudia Durău, Ana Codruţa Chiş, Adalbert Okros, C. Mihuţ)

Agri-fodder value, i.e., the diversity of floristic composition of communal pastures in Romania is strongly affected by impropper management practiced for the last three decades. Most permanent grassland areas are excessively grazed in addition to the effect of climate change on the multiplication and development of plant species making up the grassy cover. Communal pastures are the most important source of feed for animal growers in the territorial administrative units (TAUs) of the Timis County. Their current st...

SCREENING ON SOME PERMANENT GRASSLANDS IN TIMIS COUNTY (WESTERN ROMANIA). CASE STUDY

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-11-15, Carmen Claudia Durău, Adalbert Okros, Andreea Urlica, V. D. Mircov)

The grass of the grasslands is the most accessible source of food for herbivores during a significant period of a year. The knowledge of the floristic composition of grasslands reflects the current state and is an essential element in determining the load of animals. This paper is a case study and aims to inventory the species participating in the grass cover near some localities in Western Romania. Vegetation surveys were made in March, June and the first quarter of October. The study method by which the vegetati...

INCIDENCE OF INVASIVE NATIVE AND NON-NATIVE SPECIES IN PERMANENT GRASSLANDS FROM WESTERN ROMANIAN CARPATHIANS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Veronica Sarateanu, Carmen Claudia Durau, Otilia Cotuna, Dorin Rechitean)

In Western Romanian Carpathians most of the permanent grasslands are comprised in High Nature Value areas, they being used in extensive manner. The main constraints reflected on the grasslands from the analysed area are represented by depopulation and decrease of the number of grazing animals. One of the main consequences of the decrease of the anthropic pressure on the vegetation sward is the increase of the incidence of the invasive native and non-native plants species. In some situations they are producing grea...
