(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Juraj Skvarka, Emilia Bednarova)

Nowadays, renewable resources come to the forefront in the production of electricity. Among the most important resources belong the utilization of hydropower potential of water courses. The construction of hydraulic structures should not have a negative impact on the groundwater level regime of the surrounding environment. Determining the stress around a mining excavation is a complex issue of Geomechanics and implicitly of the mining area. The evaluati on of stress state is essential, but very difficult to obtain, due to the interaction of the instrument ation with the rock massif. The measurement methods, together with the devices and the methods of processing and interpretation of data, ensure and create the possibility of knowing the degree of dependence between the measured effects in terms of time, and the factors causing them...

INDUCED SEISMICITY MONITORING IN THE OILFIELD PRODUCTION AREAS, NORTH-EASTERN OFFSHORE ZONE OF SAKHALIN ISLAND

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, А. В. Коновалов)

Induced and natural seismicity discrimination in seismically active regions remains one of the complicated problems. An example of unusual seismicity pattern, which is currently recognized by seismologists as triggered seismicity due to oil and gas field production is considered in this work. We ha ve analyzed the seismicity behavior in seismogenic zone without any human-made activity as well as in hydrocarbon production area. We conclude that examined areas are characterized by the same dynamic regime. It follows...

INTERNAL FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE THE GEOMECHANICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF MAGMATIC ROCK FROM THE AISLE MURESULUI

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Ciprian Danciu)

Factors that influence the geomechanical char acteristics of rocks can be of different nature, being divided into two broad categories of external factors and internal factors. Internal factors influencing the geomechanical characteristics of the rocks are the geological, physical and chemical. From the geological point of view, the main characteristics that influence the behavior of rocks are: mineralogical composition, structure and texture. From Physical and ch emical point of view rocks are directly influenced...

METHODS TO ASSESS THE SITE EFFECTS IN BUCHAREST CITY, ROMANIA

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Andrei Bala)

In seismic microzonation we want to display the variation in seismic response of the subsurface and subsequently determine where the soil is being amplified to a level that may damage existing buildings or other structures. Frequently peak ground acceleration (PGA) is used to determine the maximu m horizontal forces that can be expected. The method is not always adequate, because PGA often corresponds to high frequencies, which are out of range of the natural frequencies of most structures. The largest amplificati...

ON THE CRACK PROPAGATION MECHANISM OF BRITTLE ROCKS UNDER VARIOUS LOADING CONDITIONS

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Mohammad Fatehi Marji)

The crack propagation mechanism of rocks under tensile and compressive loading conditions has been investigated. A higher order indirect boundary element method using special crack tip elements has been used to solve the various example problems in rock fracture mechanics. It is concluded that the brittle rocks fail due to the mixed mode fracture propagation under both tensile and compressive loading conditions. The micro- cracks are initiated due to tens ile or tensile and shear under tensile loadings and due to ...

ON THE HORIZONTAL STRAIN ANALYSIS OF THE SUBSIDENCE PHENOMENON BY A HYBRIDIZED BOUNDARY ELEMENT/FINITE DIFFERENCE METHOD

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Mohammad Fatehi Marji)

Analysis of the horizontal strains of the ground subsidence due to underground excavation in rock can be accomplished by a hybridized higher order indirect boundary element/ finite difference (BE/FD) formulation. The higher order displacement discontinuity field is obtai ned by using the quadratic displacement discontinuity elements (i.e each higher order element is divided into three sub-elements bearing a quadratic variation of displ acement discontinuities). Then th e classic finite difference formulation (i.e....

REINFORCEMENT SOLUTIONS FOR THE ROAD ACCESSING THE SURVEILLANCE BLOCK FROM OBREJII - OF - CAPALNA DAM

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Mihaela Toderaş)

The aim of this paper consists in highlighting the feasible technical solution in a real situation, namely to achieve the consolid ation of the road accessing the monitoring block from Obrejii-of-CДѓpГўlna dam. As a consequence of the landslides occurred on the left flank, between the intersection with national road DN 67C and Podu Vacii point, at about 50 - 60 m downstream the dam, it was proposed the narrowing of the access road platform, to the surveillan ce and control block of the dam, on 20 - 30 m length. Ac...

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, T. Goldan)

Road structures construction and maintenance involves the use of large amounts of materials, including natural aggregates that occupies the largest share. On one hand the quality of natural aggregates, and other road ma terials, is decisive for the success of the technologies used in the road construction sector and on the other hand, the diversity, and number of the possibilities of purchasing and the number of producing units are more varied for natural a ggregates with possibilities to significantly influence t...
