FEATURES OF ZIRCONIUM ION ADSORPTION BY SODIUM MODIFIED TITANIUM DIOXIDE

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-12-27, Khrystyna Savka, Ivan Mironyuk, Igor Mykytyn, Hanna Vasylyeva, Alexandr Vasyliev)

The mechanism for the selective adsorption of zirconium ions in a highly acidic medium by sodium-modified titanium dioxide was proposed. The mechanism of adsorption of zirconium ions in an acidic medium by this adsorbent is similar to the mechanism of adsorption of strontium ions in a neutral medium. The selectivity of Na-TiO2 is due to the positively charged surface of the adsorbent in the highly acidic medium.

MECHANICAL PROPERTIES AND MICROSTRUCTURAL ANALYZES OF EPOXY RESINS REINFORCED WITH SATIN TISSUE

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-11-15, Diana-Irinel Băilă, Răzvan Păcurar, Ancuța Păcurar)

Although the volumes of fiber reinforced polymer composites (FRPs) used for aircraft applications is a relatively small percentage of total use, the materials often find their most sophisticated applications in this industry. In aerospace the performance criteria placed upon materials can be far greater than in other areas - key aspects are lightweight, high-strength, high-stiffness and good fatigue resistance. Composites were first used by the military before the technology was applied to commercial planes. Nowad...

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-12-27, Marius Dima, Mihai Racheru, Ciprian Larco, Teodor Lucian Grigorie, Radu Pahonie)

The evolution of technology in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has led to the miniaturization of the equipment on board these aircraft. The most used equipment mounted on a UAV is still the video sensor, with the help of which the video image from the aerial vehicle can be processed for dedicated applications (facility inspection, surveying and mapping, operational oversight, traffic control, etc.). In this paper, we present the prototyping of a three-axis gimbal using the direct drive technology to r...

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-12-27, Laurenţia Alexandrescu, Mihai Georgescu, Maria Sönmez, Anton Ficai)

In this paper were obtained waste/polymeric nanocomposites - polyamide waste (PAW) and polystyrene (PS), compatibilized with maleic anhydride grafted polystyrene, and reinforced with carbon nanofibers (CF). PolyamideWaste / polystyrene (PAW / PS) composites are studied because both components are relatively cheap, with beneficial properties, and can be processed by injection. Compatibility of polymer and waste compounds can be achieved by adding a grafted copolymer, the segments of which have physical or chemical ...

A designed protection system should not fail once or under a small number of hits. Tests to assess ballistic protection are expensive and numerous. The simulations support engineers in limiting the number and complexity of impact tests. This paper discusses the failure mechanisms and simulated impact phases between a bullet (similar to 9 mm FMJ) and a panel made of 8-layers, 12-layers and 16-layers, at two impact velocities, 373 m/s and 420 m/s. respectively. The rapeseed oil is a promising eco-friendly lubricant for applications involving environment protection. But any vegetal oil has shortcuts especially related to low viscosity and thermal stability. Research in additivation with nanoparticles is of interest for improving load capability of the contact and for reducing wear. Other tribological characteristics, as friction coefficient, could oscillate around values offered by the neat vegetal oil, with more or less influence of the system behavior. The four-ball tes...

Currently, for the development of industry, it is very important and relevant to create materials with improved properties and parameters. The creation of composite materials based on polymers is promising. YBa2Cu3O6+x (YBCO) particles, according to the Le Chatelier principle, absorb oxygen atoms from the surrounding macromolecules of the matrix, causing a decrease in the volume of the polymer. The effect of nanodisperse fillers from YBa2Cu3O6+x in polyimide composite films on the interactions between macromolecul...

THE AGGREGATE STABILITY OF NANOSIZED COPPER OXIDE PARTICLES IN THE ENVIRONMENT

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-12-20, Н. В. Зайцева, Marina Zemlyanova, А. М. Игнатова, М. С. Степанков)

Being released into the environment, the nanosized particles are present in it in the form of a colloid. At the same time, the colloid has an ability to change its properties, including its dimensionality, depending on the physical conditions, as well as composition of the dispersing medium. Nevertheless, this circumstance is irrelevant when assessing the risk associated with the spread of nanosized particles in the environment. The conditions under which the colloid retains its property of nanoscale dimensionalit...

A REVIEW OF HEAT EXCHANGERS USED IN CRYOGENICS

(STEF92 Technology, 2019-06-20, M Pintilie)

Heat exchangers are important components of cryogenic installations. The modern and advanced cryogenic systems have bulky heat exchangers, weigh tens of tons, are made of copper and its alloys, stainless steel or aluminum. The main challenge in the field is related to the need to reduce size and weight of the heat exchangers by using appropriate construction shape and modern materials. Heat exchangers used in cryogenics can be divided into three main groups: tubular, spiral and efficient or compact exchangers. In ...

It is shown that the corrosion-electrochemical behavior of coatings with iron (cobalt) tungsten alloys depends on the content of the refractory component, and the increase in chemical resistance in an acidic medium is due to the formation of acidic tungsten oxides on the surface. The use of artificial neural networks allowed us to identify the most significant parameters that determine the corrosion resistance of alloys. Electrolysis was carried out in a glass cell for a two-electrode scheme using planar positione...
