APPLICATION OF THE FROTH FLOTATION FOR FELDSPAR ORES TREATMENT

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Monika Repkova)

Feldspar ores occur usually together with quartz, micaceous minerals and some amount of coloured impurities. For fu rther utilization of feldspar is necessary to effectively remove colouring gangue minerals. The main me thod of feldspar ores treatment is froth flotation. COMPLEX STUDY, CHEMICAL AND MINERALOGICAL, OF THE RED MUD DUMPS RESULTS IN ROMANIAN ALUMINA PLANTS

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Mihai Ghita)

The hydrometallurgical process for obtaini ng alumina by Bayer process bauxite is getting significant amounts of red mud (0.8 - 2 t / t Al 2O3). It is deposited in dumps which can cause danger for environment mainly due to the alkali content ( pH = 8-13) and small dimensisons of particles (less than 60 microns). Chemical and mineralogical composition of red mud bauxite is closely related to type of the bauxite used as raw material and processing conditions determined by some peculiarities of applied technology (pr...

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Camelia Bădulescu)

The national and international economic crisis has increased the interest in utilizing coal to produce electric or thermic energy, but that means also an increased pollution. AN ADAPTIVE APPROACH FOR BUBBLE SIZE MEASUREMENT FROM FLOTATION FROTH IMAGES

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2010, N. Mehrshad, M. Massinaei, F. Daneshmand)

Froth flotation is an effective process for separating valuable from gangue minerals. Studies show that the performance of froth flotation is affected by the froth structure, and has a strong relationship with visual information of the froth surface. The determination of the froth structure, therefore, plays a vital role for controlling the process. Extensive studies have shown that computer-based vision technology is a robust, non-intrusive and cost effective approach for monitoring and controlling of flotation c...
