The paper presents the results of mineralogical and technological research of tailings produced during processing of rare-metal columbite ore of the prospective Zashikhinskoe deposit. The grain size analysis of a tailings sample showed that the most part of the material is represented by fine-grained particles with 53.3% yield of size fraction -0.045 mm.
