(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, А. Г. Булаев, Khusain Valiev, Aliya Bugubayaeva, Azamat Zhikeev Vitalyi, В. С. Меламуд)

Bioleaching of sulfide minerals has been successfully applied worldwide for obtaining copper for decades. This technology provides about 5% of world copper production and is used as an alternative for pyrometallurgical processing of copper ores. Despite widespread of biohydrometallurgical technologies, there are a number of issues in this area, which impede the development and commercialization of bioleaching. For example, chalcopyrite (CuFeS2), the most abundant copper sulfide mineral, is refractory to biooxidati...

Biohydrometallurgical technologies based on the oxidation of sulfide minerals by iron- and sulfur-oxidizing acidophilic microorganisms are widely used to extract non-ferrous and noble metals from sulfide ores and concentrates. Acidophilic microorganisms oxidizing sulfide minerals include autotrophs, heterotrophs, and mixotrophs. Therefore, studying of the effect of different carbon sources on biooxidation of sulfide minerals is relevant issue. The goal of the present work was to study the effect of different organ...

EXTRACTION OF MOLYBDENUM FROM SULFIDE ORES OF THE SHANTOBE DEPOSIT USING CULTURE ACIDOTHIOBACILLUS FERROOXIDANS

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Ashimkhan Kanayev, Kuat Baimyrzayev, Z. K. Kanayeva, Kuanysch Tokpayev, Tatyana Dippel)

A large number of precious metals such as molybdenum, gold, uranium and much more are obtained from sulfide ores. Currently, a large number of hydrometallurgical methods are used to extract precious metals, which in turn are outdated in this field. In this regard, it is necessary to develop new modern methods for extracting all valuable components from sulfide ores. One of these methods is the process of bio-leaching with the use of microorganisms. The use of this method in mining companies will help reduce the ri...

MATHEMATICAL MODELING OF FERROMAGNETIC PARTICLE AGGREGATION IN IRON ORE PROCESSING TECHNOLOGIES

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Valerii Birukov, А. С. Опалев, R. M. Nikitin)

The paper considers the formation and development of modern ideas in the field of mathematical modeling of the interaction of ferromagnetic particles and external magnetic fields in mineral processing. The implementation of such studies is dictated by the need to identify methods for the analytical representation of the physical laws of the aggregation of ferromagnetic particles, which are a basis for the various technological equipment used in the iron ores processing. The identification is aimed at the use of in...

OVERSIZED ORE PIECES DETECTION METHOD BASED ON COMPUTER VISION AND SOUND PROCESSING FOR VALIDATION OF VIBRATIONAL SIGNALS IN DIAGNOSTICS OF MINING SCREEN

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Artur Skoczylas, Sergii Anufriiev, Paweł Stefaniak)

The main purpose in mineral processing plant is to obtain the highest possible value from a processed raw material. In majority of concentrators in the world mining the first step of the processing technology is sieving of ore that is performed using vibrating screens. Usually, in the whole technological system there are only several such machines. That is why their continuous operation is critical and they are often concerned as a bottleneck of the whole system. Although the vibrating screens are expected to keep...

SIMULATION MODELING CONCEPT OF DISINTEGRATION OF MINERALS BASED ON GAUSS - LAPLACE AND B (BETA) DISTRIBUTIONS

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, R. M. Nikitin, Sergey Lukichev, Valerii Birukov, Andrey Oleinik)

This work studied the problem of the joint use of Gauss - Laplace and B (beta) distributions to describe the disintegration of minerals of polymineral ores, which is associated with the liberation of mineral grains - the release of monomineral particles from intergrowths with other minerals. The basic position of the work is the dependence of the result of reducing the size of mineral particles on the energy expended on this process, postulated in the mineral processing theory. This dependence was taken into accou...

Thermal dehydration of a natural hydrous ferric sulfate Fe(SO4)(OH)?2H2O was studied using x-ray-phase and thermal analyses. This mineral was found in the hypergenesis zone of the Khangalas gold deposit, Eastern Yakutia, Russia. A comparative analysis of the sample with known hypergenic hydrous ferric sulfates with a similar Fe2O3:SO3 ratio close to 1:1 was performed. The dissimilarities between the founded mineral and its possible polymorphs ? butlerite and parabutlerite are identified. The mineral is less stable...
