FISCHER-TROPSCH SYNTHESIS OVER POLYMER SUPPORTED PROMOTED IRON CATALYSTS

(STEF92 Technology, 2024-11-01, Mariia E. Markova, Аntonina А. Stepacheva, Vladimir Molchanov, Galina N. Demidenko, Mikhail G. Sulman)

In recent decades, the interest of researchers has focused on the development of methods for obtaining alternative energy sources. Fischer-Tropsch synthesis is one of the methods for obtaining a wide range of hydrocarbons and their derivatives. Ru, Ni, Fe and Co are the widely used catalytically active metals in FTS. To increase the activity of the catalyst, as well as increase the yield of target products, promoters are introduced into catalytic systems. In FTS, oxides of alkaline and rare earth metals, oxides of...

OPTIMIZATION OF PROCESS CONDITIONS FOR THE CATALYTIC CONVERSION OF MICROCRYSTALLINE CELLULOSE INTO SUGAR ALCOHOLS

(STEF92 Technology, 2024-11-01, Oleg V. Manaenkov, Olga Kislitsa, Аntonina А. Stepacheva, Linda Zh. Nikoshvili, Valentina G. Matveeva)

The scale of annual reproduction of cellulose-containing biomass in nature allows us to draw an unambiguous conclusion that cellulose is the only source of raw materials for the chemical and fuel industries, representing a real alternative to fossil resources and, first of all, oil. Cellulose is the main component of plant biomass. According to some estimates, almost half of the organic carbon in the biosphere is contained in cellulose. Hydrolytic hydrogenation is a special case of carbohydrate hydrogenation. With...

The deep processing of lignocellulose feedstock (including waste from the woodworking industry, agriculture, and agro-industry) allowing the high-added value products to be obtained is one of the key scientific problems. Lignocellulose biomass is a potential feedstock for the production of heat, electricity, fuel, chemicals, and other bioderived products. The liquefaction is considered to be one of the most promising ways to convert lignocellulose biomass into liquid fuels. During the liquefaction, lignocellulose ...

Transforming Indian Agro‐Waste into High‐Performance Green Catalysts: An AI‐Driven Techno‐Environmental Roadmap for Circular Chemistry

(STEF92 Technology, 2024, Аntonina А. Stepacheva, Yury V. Lugovoy, В. П. Молчанов, Yu. Yu. Kosivtsov, Mikhail G. Sulman)

India generates over 500 million tonnes of agricultural waste annually, much of which is lignocellulosic biomass rich in silica, calcium, potassium, and carbon elements, which are favourable for catalytic applications. This study highlights the valorisation of abundant agro-wastes such as rice husk (up to 20% silica), coconut shell (74%-78% fixed carbon), sugarcane bagasse (45%-55% cellulose), and tamarind seed (rich in polysaccharides and carbon), as cost-effective and sustainable catalysts. Various preparation t...
