CHARACTERISTICS AND ORIGIN OF THE CIEZKOWICE SANDSTONE SILICICLASTICS SUPPORTED BY EXPERIMENTAL FLUME MODELLING (FLYSCH CARPATHIANS, POLAND) ?? PRELIMINARY RESULTS

(STEF92 Technology, 2026, Zbigniew Ziarek, Laura Juragal)

Residual rocky forms of the Flysch Carpathians are distinguished by their high scientific value. Some of the representative groups of such flysch tors are located in the Wisnicz Foothill and Ciezkowice Foothill. Those attractive assemblages of sandstone- to conglomeratic tors are the Stone Town Nature Reserve, the Witches Waterfall natural monument, and the quarry in Ostrusza. Other large objects are rocky forms: the Wieprzek Tors in Siekierczyna, the Devils Playground in Plawna, and the Devils Rocks in Bukowiec. ...

DROWNED LANDSCAPES OF THE SOUTH BULGARIAN COAST: RECONSTRUCTING HOLOCENE SHORELINE MIGRATION IN SOZOPOL AREA

(STEF92 Technology, 2026, Preslav Peev)

The Holocene evolution of the Black Sea remains one of the most debated topics in Quaternary geology, primarily due to the dramatic transition from a semi-isolated lake to a marine basin. The South Bulgarian coast, extending from the Balkan Mountains to the Rezovo River, represents a complex geomorphological system shaped by post-glacial sea-level rise, tectonic fluctuations, and anthropogenic pressures. This paper synthesizes current stratigraphical and archaeological data to reconstruct the Holocene evolution of...

HISTORICAL CONTEXT OF THE USE OF MARBLE AS A RAW MATERIAL FOR TRADITIONAL LIME PRODUCTION IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE VYSOCINA REGION (CZECH REPUBLIC)

(STEF92 Technology, 2026, Petr Kozlovcev, Jan Valek, Kristyna Kotkova, Radek Sevcik)

The southern part of the Vysocina region (Bohemian-Moravian Highlands), defined by the surroundings of towns Telc and Slavonice, has been associated with the use of local crystalline limestones – marbles, since the Middle Ages. These marbles were burned to produce lime that was used not only for traditional masonry, but also for renders and plasters. Nowadays, analyses of preserved fragments of incomplete burned marble or binder-related particles in historical objects represent a valuable source for the rediscov...

IMPACT OF HIGH-TEMPERATURE DRILLING FLUID DEGRADATION ON PDC AND DIAMOND BIT PERFORMANCE

(STEF92 Technology, 2026, Boranbay Ratov)

High-temperature drilling in deep HPHT and geothermal wells (>180–220 °C) causes thermal degradation of drilling fluids, which compromises hydraulic performance and accelerates wear of PDC and diamond-impregnated bits. This study evaluates three fluid systems – high-temperature oil-based mud (HT-OBM), thermally stabilized water-based mud (HT-WBM), and nanoparticle-enhanced synthetic-based mud (nano-SBM) – subjected to static aging in HPHT cells at 150–240 °C for 16–40 hours, followed by measurements of...

MINERALOGICAL FORMS OF OCCURRENCE OF FINE-DISPERSED GOLD

(STEF92 Technology, 2026, Gulnara Omarova)

The present study aims to develop methodological approaches for the investigation of fine-dispersed gold in ores from primary (bedrock) deposits and placers, with the objective of improving recovery efficiency. The type of gold under investigation exhibits a number of distinctive characteristics that substantially differentiate the conditions of its concentration, distribution within ore horizons and bodies, and the reliability of its analytical determination using conventional methods from those applicable to sma...

PROSPECTS OF OIL AND GAS POTENTIAL OF CRETACEOUS AND JURASSIC DEPOSITS SURKHANDARYA OIL AND GAS REGION

(STEF92 Technology, 2026, Zhanel Aubakirova)

The article provides brief characteristics of the discovered deposits in the Surkhandarya oil and gas region, the results of research work by a number of scientists and a number of exploratory seismic surveys carried out. As a result of these works, the presence of a large number of areas with a high-amplitude structure was revealed, which are favorable signs for the accumulation of hydrocarbons. The analysis of new geological and geophysical materials based on modern equipment and computer programs of various com...

RARE METAL POTENTIAL OF SOUTH-EAST KALBA, EASTERN KAZAKHSTAN (AS AN EXAMPLE OF CHERDOYAK DEPOSIT)

(STEF92 Technology, 2026, Tatyana Oitseva, Marina Mizernaya, Dmitry Titov, Oxana Kuzmina, Ainel Bessatova)

Rare metals such as Sn, W, Ta, Nb, Li and rare earth elements are essential for modern technologies, renewable energy systems and advanced materials. Their growing demand increases the importance of studying rare-metal provinces and identifying new perspective areas. The Kalba–Narym belt in Eastern Kazakhstan is one of the main rare-metal regions of Central Asia. However, the potential of its south-eastern part remains insufficiently evaluated. This paper considers the Cherdoyak deposit as an example of greisenâ...

TYPING OF TECHNOGENIC ECOTOPES AND CHARACTERIZATION OF ABIOTIC CONDITIONS IN THE AREA OF THE TEKELI TAILING STORAGE FACILITY

(STEF92 Technology, 2026, Gulzhanat Sultangaliyeva, Ashimkhan Kanayev)

The territory surrounding the Tekeli polymetallic tailing storage facility (SE Kazakhstan) represents a highly transformed technogenic landscape where natural ecosystems have been replaced by heterogeneous ecotopes with distinct abiotic constraints. This study aims to classify technogenic ecotopes and characterize their abiotic parameters to provide a scientific basis for ecological restoration. Four major ecotopes were identified based on geomorphology, substrate origin, granulometric structure, moisture regime, ...

ASSESSMENT OF MODERATE TO STRONG SEISMIC EVENTS IN THE DUMREA DIAPIRIC AREA OF ALBANIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2025-08-15, Arjol Lule, Diana Bardhi)

The tectonic setting of Albania, influenced by the collision with the Adria microplate, is divided into two structural domains: an external compressional zone and an internal extensional one. Two main fault systems characterize the region-the longitudinal system (NW-SE to NNW-SSE), consisting of thrust and reverse faults, and the transversal system (NE-SW), comprising strike-slip faults. The Lushnje-Elbasan transverse fault, oriented NNE, is associated with the Dumrea diapiric dome and the Elbasan Quaternary grabe...

CHARACTERIZATION OF MARBLE DEPOSITS IN VYSOCINA REGION, CZECH REPUBLIC, AS A TOOL FOR DETERMINING MATERIAL PROVENANCE

(STEF92 Technology, 2025-08-15, Petr Kozlovcev, Jan Válek, Radek Levchk)

Crystalline limestones - marbles, are historically one of the most important raw materials exploited in the area of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands (Vysocina region). Their use is connected with the first construction of masonry buildings since the Middle Ages. Local marbles were first used as raw material for lime burning, then as building stone, decorative stones or as individual elements in building constructions. The most famous locations where these marbles were used include the Cistercian monastery in -dar n...
