ABOUT COMPUTER MODELING OF MINES

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2004, G. Siarov)

While analyzing and managing the mining production we are leading not by the mine itself, as an object, but mainly by its model. In that case every taken decision will be workable only if we have a realistic model, completly describing every specifications and characteristic of the mine. In the article we will describe mine modeling algorithms and some requirements of mine computer modeling too.

The aim of this paper is to evaluate the suitability of a coal sample from the mine CSA for bacterial leaching. Laboratory research used a pure bacterial culture of Thiobacillus ferrooxidans . The results showed that bacterial leaching was effective, with a one month leaching time, when 68\% of total sulphur and 68\% of pyritic sulphur was leached. The paper describes changes to the pyrite during and after bacterial leaching.

BASES FOR INVESTIGATION OF THE CHANGE OF EXPENDITURE FOR MAINTENANCE OF ROADS BY THE METHODS OF STATISTICAL MODELING

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2004, G. Trapov, I. Markov, A. Smilyanov, D. Hristanov, V. Balikov)

Expenses for maintenance of mine roads at any moment depend on volumes of road surface, needed for laying at the same moment, to transform roads into a usable condition. A method is presented for their quantitative determination toward a series of consecutive moments and principles of statistical modeling are applied for determining the regularities of change of expenses with the time.

INTRODUCTION OF TITANIUM MINERALS; MINERAL AND METALURGICAL PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2004, I. Kursun)

Titanium; the ninth mose abundant element, occurs in nature mainly as ilmenite (95\%) and rutile (5\%). Ilmenite is an economically important mineral. Ilmenite forms as a primary mineral in mafic igneous rocks and is concentrated into layers by a process called “magmatic segregation”. It crystallises out of magma relatively early before most of the other minerals. As a result, the heavier crystals of ilmenite fall to the bottom of the magma chamber and collect in layers. It is these layers that constitute a ri...

Underground, surface and technological waters in their geochemical context are investigated (more than 2 000 data) as a ground of the speciation study (30 trace and 24 major elements). All the trace elements analytical researches are carried out by HR-ICP-AES Jobin Yvon ULTIMA 2 and the speciation study – by WATEQ 4F adap...

CHEMISTRY OF THE FLY ASH AND ITS RESPIRABLE –SIZE FRACTION (<10ΜM) FROM THE POWER UNITS OF AGIOS DIMITRIOS THERMAL POWER PLANT, NORTHERN GREECE

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2003, A. Georgakopoulos, K. Adamidou, E. Amanatidou, L. Tsikritzis)

Major and trace element concentrations were measured in representative fly ash samples from four Power Units of Agios Dimitrios Thermal Power Plant, Northern Greece. Major and trace element concentrations were also measured in the respirable-size fly ash fraction (<10$\mu$m) of the same samples, separated from the bulk fly ash by laboratory treatment. The respirable-size fraction, compared to the bulk fly ash was found richer in CaO and poorer in all other major oxides (SiO2, TiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, MnO, MgO, Na2O, K2...

COAL BED METHANE DRAINAGE IN INDIA: AN ECO FRIENDLY FUEL FOR FUTURE

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2003, A. K. Agarwal, P. K Jha, P.J. Murodiya)

Coal, Oil and Natural gas account for 30\%, 31\% and 2\% respectively of the world’s total energy. In India, coal based energy is the main source of energy and its energy demand is increasing at the rate of 9\% per year. The supply on the other hand is lagging behind. If this trend continuous, it is estimated that by the year 2022, India would be required to spend Rs. 860 billion per year to meet its energy demand. World attention has recently started shifting towards methane, which can be exploited from the coa...

CONSTRUCTION PRECISION SURVEY POLYGONS IN CONDITIONS OF DEVELOPMENT OF THE STAROBIN DEPOSIT OF POTASH SALTS

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2003, ED. T. Denkevich, E. T. Denkevich)

In article the opportunity of construction by a precision survey polygons necessary for mutual positioning of underground mining with a margin error within the limits of 100 mm is considered. Offered decisions of this problem include optimum accommodation of points of range on a contour of mining, application of a strict way of equalizing of a polygon and gyroscopic orientation of the sides of a traverse by modern devices.
