This study evaluated the antioxidant and antimicrobial properties of Nepeta - faassenii (family Lamiaceae), a perennial aromatic hybrid derived from N. racemosa and N. nepetella [12]. The genus Nepeta is recognized for its essential oils rich in nepetalactones, phenolic acids, and flavonoids, which contribute to notable biological activities such as antioxidant, antimicrobial, and insect-repellent effects [3], [9], [10], [12]. The Nepeta Vegetal Extract (NVE) was obtained through ultrasonic extraction using 60 % e...

INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT OF THE WEED SPECIES CIRSIUM ARVENSE (L.) SCOP. IN ROMANIA - AN OVERVIEW

(STEF92 Technology, 2025-12-27, Alina Maria SURDULESCU, Otilia COTUNA, A. Ienciu, Veronica SARATEANU, Nicolae Dan Manea)

In Romania, Cirsium arvense (creeping thistle) has a high incidence in agricultural crops, approximately 70%, the development being largely influenced by climate but also by the inadequate technologies practiced. This study is an overview of the integrated management of the perennial weed Cirsium arvense in Romania. Therefore, it was done a review of the studies published in Romania, in order to highlight the predominant methods and whether or not cultural and biological measures are used. The methods used were bi...

INCIDENCE OF INVASIVE NATIVE AND NON-NATIVE SPECIES IN PERMANENT GRASSLANDS FROM WESTERN ROMANIAN CARPATHIANS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Veronica Sarateanu, Carmen Claudia Durau, Otilia Cotuna, Dorin Rechitean)

In Western Romanian Carpathians most of the permanent grasslands are comprised in High Nature Value areas, they being used in extensive manner. The main constraints reflected on the grasslands from the analysed area are represented by depopulation and decrease of the number of grazing animals. One of the main consequences of the decrease of the anthropic pressure on the vegetation sward is the increase of the incidence of the invasive native and non-native plants species. In some situations they are producing grea...
