3D MODELING OF DYKES IN SUNGUN PORPHYRY DEPOSIT THROUGH APPLYING INDICATOR KRIGING

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2008, O. Asghari, A. Hezarkhani, V. Rafiee)

Two major series of crosscutting dikes (Dk1a and Dk1b) are common in Sungun porphyry deposit. Those are varying compositionally from quartz monzo-diorite to granodiorite. About thirty percent of the sungun stock is filled by Dk1a and Dk1b dikes. Presence of dikes will cause lots of errors in copper content estimation, so determination of dikes is very important. Ten percent of dikes volume could be identified through drawing strings and correlation between boreholes. For estimating and determining the other part o...

APPLYING DISCRIMINANT ANALYSIS AND SGS TO SEPARATING ALTERATION ZONES WITHIN THE SUNGUN PORPHYRY COPPER DEPOSIT

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2008, O. Asghari, A. Hezarkhani, V. Rafiee)

In the detailed exploration and reserve estimation, with separating the alteration (as the controller of the grade) in ore reserve and estimating the reserve in each alteration, the estimation variance will decrease and the accuracy of the estimation will increase. This paper tries to quantify and separate the alterations using discriminant analysis, a multivariate statistical method, and distribute them through sequential gaussian simulation in the Sungun copper deposit. A simple linear discriminant function tran...

LOWERING THE ESTIMATION VARIANCE BY LITHOLOGY AND ALTERATION SEPARATION

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2008, O. Asghari, A. Hezarkhani, V. Rafie)

In the detailed exploration and reserve estimation, with separating the alteration (as the controller of the grade) in ore reserve and estimating the reserve in each alteration, the estimation variance will decrease and the accuracy of the estimation will increase. In the other hand without any additional drilling, it is also possible to decrease the estimation variance by lowering the sill of variograms. In this method, we have categorized the data into different lithologies and different alterations such as skar...

A QUANTIFIED METHOD FOR SEPARATING THE ALTERATION ZONES IN PORPHYRY COPPER SYSTEMS (BASED ON THE FLUID INCLUSION DATA)

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2007, O. Asghari, A. Hezarkhani)

The Sungun porphyry copper deposit (PCD) is located in East Azarbaijan, in the NW of Iran. The Sungun porphyries occur as stocks and dikes ranging in composition from quartz monzodiorite through quartz monzonite. Four types of hypogene alteration are developed at Sungun, potassic, phyllic, propylitic and argillic. Based upon their phase content, four types of fluid inclusions are common at Sungun (1) vapor, mono-phase (2) vapor-rich, two-phase, (3) liquid-rich twophase, and (4) multi-phase. Halite is the principal...

GEOSTATISTICAL INVESTIGATION OF ANISOTROPY IN SUPERGENE AND HYPOGENE ZONES AND ESTIMATION OF COPPER CONTENT IN SUNGUN PORPHYRY COPPER DEPOSIT

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2007, O. Asghari, A. Hezarkhani)

Sungun Porphyry Copper deposit is located 75 kilometers northwest of Ahar and 130 kilometers northwest of Tabriz. In order to model the deposit and estimate its reserve, 31068 input data gained from 152 boreholes were used. Cu grade was selected as the major regional variable on which the present research has focused. All of the available data were changed to 12.5-meter composites so that statistical equalization could be reached. Studies indicated that Cu input data had single - population characteristics. To car...

SIMULATION OF COPPER CONTENT IN THE SUNGUN PORPHYRY DEPOSIT THROUGH SEQUENTIAL GAUSSIAN SIMULATION (SGS), IRAN

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2007, O. Asghari, A. Hezarkhani)

The Sungun porphyry copper deposit is located 75km northwest of Ahar in northwestern Iran. The Conditional Simulations, based on 31068 XRF rock analysis from the Sungun porphyry copper deposit have been applied to Geostatistical simulation. Statistical investigations reviled that, the Cu input data had single-population characteristics and obeyed a lognormal model. To carry out this geostatistical investigation, a spherical model was fitted over an empirical variogram. Plotting the empirical variogram in different...

APPLYING THE BOTH GEOSTATISTICAL ESTIMATION AND THE SEQUENTIAL GAUSSIAN SIMULATION WITHIN THE CHOGHART FE DEPOSIT

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2006, O. Asghari, A. Hezarkhani)

To carry out the geostatistical studies, a spherical model was fitted over an empirical variogram. Plotting the empirical variogram in different directions, and it showed that there are neither geometric nor regional anisotropy. For simulating via Sequential Gaussian Simulation (SGS) method, data were transferred to standard normal and then simulated 100 times (in this way 100 realizations were created). All of the realizations were honor to histogram and the variogram, so all realizations are valid. E\_Type and p...

GEOSTATISTICAL MODELING AND RESERVE ESTIMATION OF CHOGHART IRON ORE DEPOSIT THROUGH ORDINARY KRIGING METHOD

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2005, O. Asghari, A. Hezarkhani)

Choghart iron ore deposit is located 13 kilometers northeast of Bafq and 120 kilometers east of Yazd. In order to model the deposit and estimate its reserve, 331 input data gained from 125 boreholes were used. Iron grade was selected as the major regional variable on which the present research has focused. All of the available data were changed to two-meter composites so that statistical equalization could be reached. Studies indicated that Fe input data had single - population characteristics and obeyed a natural...
