BUILDING MULTILINGUAL ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION PLATFORMS: INTEGRATING TRANSLATION TECHNOLOGIES WITH CURRICULUM DESIGN

(STEF92 Technology, 2026, Raul Pascalau, Cosmin Alin Popescu, Florinel Imbrea, Adina Horablaga, Laura Iosefina Smuleac)

The intersection of environmental education and multilingual communication presents urgent challenges as climate change and ecological degradation demand global awareness and action. This article examines the design, development, and implementation of multilingual environmental education platforms that strategically integrate translation technologies with curriculum design. Drawing on interdisciplinary frameworks from translation studies, educational technology, and environmental science pedagogy, we propose a com...

CENTRALIZED WORKFLOW AUTOMATION FOR TECHNICAL-SCIENTIFIC PDF PROCESSING IN GEOINFORMATICS ENVIRONMENTS

(STEF92 Technology, 2026, Laurentiu Munteanu, Andrada Denisa MATEI, Marius Cornel SUVAR, Zoltan VASS, Marius Morar)

The paper presents a centralized workflow automation solution for processing technical-scientific PDF documents in geoinformatics-oriented organizational environments. The proposed system addresses repetitive document-processing activities associated with scientific reporting, technical documentation, scanned archives, and institutional digital workflows, particularly in situations where users do not possess advanced PDF-processing skills. The solution is implemented using a continuously operating Windows server o...

CFD SIMULATION OF ACCUMULATION AND EXHAUST METHANE IN CLOSED ENCLOSURES

(STEF92 Technology, 2026, Doru Cioclea, Corneliu Boanta, Ion Gherghe, Cristian Tomescu, Nicolae Ianc)

Anthropogenic activities involve extracting the transformation and use of natural resources. During the process of extraction of useful mineral substances on the surface or underground, particles or gases appear in the working environment resulting from the removal or natural release from the rock mass. The process of transformation of useful mineral substances is carried out on the surface in closed enclosures, and involves the use of complex technological processes. During these technological processes, gases, m...

CHANGE OF FOUNDATION TYPE DUE TO EXCAVATION DEWATERING: A CASE STUDY

(STEF92 Technology, 2026, Assia Bozhinova-Haapanen)

Engineering-geological and hydrogeological investigations play an important role in the selection and design of dewatering methods for construction excavations and the choice of the foundation type of the designed buildings. This paper presents a case study from a construction site in Sofia city, situated in the southernmost part of the Sofia graben and near by a river terrace. The project involves the construction of a five-story residential building with one underground level. The groundwater table was establish...

CHARACTERISTICS AND ORIGIN OF THE CIEZKOWICE SANDSTONE SILICICLASTICS SUPPORTED BY EXPERIMENTAL FLUME MODELLING (FLYSCH CARPATHIANS, POLAND) ?? PRELIMINARY RESULTS

(STEF92 Technology, 2026, Zbigniew Ziarek, Laura Juragal)

Residual rocky forms of the Flysch Carpathians are distinguished by their high scientific value. Some of the representative groups of such flysch tors are located in the Wisnicz Foothill and Ciezkowice Foothill. Those attractive assemblages of sandstone- to conglomeratic tors are the Stone Town Nature Reserve, the Witches Waterfall natural monument, and the quarry in Ostrusza. Other large objects are rocky forms: the Wieprzek Tors in Siekierczyna, the Devils Playground in Plawna, and the Devils Rocks in Bukowiec. ...

CHARACTERISTICS OF ASH DUMPS OF COAL-FIRED POWER PLANTS IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

(STEF92 Technology, 2026, Leonid Delitsyn, Mikhail Sulman, Ruslan Kulumbegov, Oleg Popel, Victoria Petropavlovskaya)

A key environmental and technological problem for coal-fired generation in the Russian Federation is the overfilling of existing ash disposal sites. The total volume of accumulated solid coal combustion waste has reached 2 billion tons. It is important to emphasize that this figure reflects only the accumulated "legacy burden" and is not a fixed value: the industry generates about 20 million tons of new waste annually. Consequently, the actual mass of this waste requiring disposal or processing is steadily increas...

CHARACTERIZATION IN TERM OF THE SELF-IGNITION BEHAVIOR FOR COMBUSTIBLE DUSTS DERIVED FROM TECHNOLOGICAL PROCESSES

(STEF92 Technology, 2026, Irina Nalboc, Maria Prodan, Andrei Szollosi Mota, Sonia Suvar)

Combustible dusts are presented in industry as a finished products or process intermediates created voluntarily by milling or involuntarily by abraison of larger sized solid. Spontaneous combustion is a phenomenon that occurs by self-heating, increase in temperature due to exothermic internal reactions, followed by thermal runaway (self heating which rapidly accelerates to high temperatures) and finally, autoignition. The oxidation of combustible powders occurs when they react with air oxygen, producing carbon dio...

CHEMICAL LINE OF EVIDENCE FOR ECOLOGICAL RISK ASSESSMENT: HEAVY METAL FORMS AS INDICATORS FOR AN ADVISORY SYSTEM IN THE TOPOLNITSA RIVER BASIN

(STEF92 Technology, 2026, Mariana Hristova, Veselina Vasileva, Viktoriya Kancheva, Ana Katsarova, Nikolai Dinev)

The Topolnitsa River basin is a vulnerable agricultural area affected by mining and metallurgical pressure. Irrigation with surface waters and contrasting soil properties may increase secondary contamination. This study develops the Chemical Line of Evidence (Chem-LoE) within the TRIAD framework of an advisory system for ecological risk assessment. The focus is on riparian and floodplain agricultural soils, mainly alluvial-meadow and deluvial-meadow soils. Copper (Cu), lead (Pb), zinc (Zn), cadmium (Cd) and arseni...

CIRCULAR ECONOMY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN SOUTHEAST EUROPE: CHALLENGES, INNOVATIONS, AND FUTURE TRENDS

(STEF92 Technology, 2026, Ibrahim Krasniqi, Naim Ismajli, Doruntina Zogaj, Ganimete Krasniqi)

The transition to a circular economy (CE) is a key driver of sustainable development, particularly in Southeast Europe (SEE), where environmental pressures and economic restructuring remain significant. This study examines CE policies, implementation practices, and emerging trends across SEE countries, with emphasis on their alignment with European Union sustainability frameworks. A mixed-methods approach is applied, combining comparative policy analysis with qualitative case studies. Data sources include national...

CIRCULAR ECONOMY IN PUBLIC FOOD SERVICES: SUSTAINABLE MODELS FOR REDUCING FOOD WASTE

(STEF92 Technology, 2026, Merce Iuliana Merce, Ioana Anda Milin, Tabita Adamov, Claudia Sirbulescu, Dragos Chende)

In the context of increasing pressure on natural resources, driven by population growth, accelerated urbanization, and changing consumption patterns, the issue of food waste is gaining growing relevance at the global level. The food service sector, as an integral part of the HoReCa industry, contributes significantly to this problem, being characterized by high production volumes, demand variability, and operational complexity. Within this framework, the circular economy emerges as an essential alternative model t...
